“Hi reader! I’m Abby, creator of Crime by the Book, a crime fiction-focused website and Instagram account. I’m so excited to welcome you to Crime by the Box, a monthly subscription service that will bring one of my crime book recommendations right to your door every month. Every pick will be a brand-new, signed hardcover.
Wondering if our taste in books are similar? I tend to love books that are character-driven, page-turning, and get under your skin — whether through their dark and creepy plot twists or through the thought-provoking issues they explore. Some of my favorite authors include Riley Sager, Ruth Ware, Catherine Ryan Howard, Amanda Jayatissa, Lars Kepler, Simone St. James, Yrsa Sigurdardottir… the list goes on and on. I’ll be using Crime by the Box to introduce you to a mix of my favorite authors (especially those who have gone a bit under the radar thus far!) and new voices whose work deserves a spotlight.
My Crime by the Box picks will encompass a range of crime fiction sub-genres, from twisty psychological thrillers to murder mysteries to domestic suspense and beyond — but they’ll all have immersive, gripping plots that will keep you up all night. Happy reading!”

As of September 1, 2024, we have changed our subscription date policy so that you have to order by the last day of the previous month in order to receive a certain month’s book. For example, subscribers who want their first book to be the October 2024 pick should have their order placed by September 30th
Also! Your subscription will auto-renew unless you cancel before the renewal date. The renewal dates will vary based on when you placed your subscription and the length of it. For example, if you place an order for the 3-month subscription box, your next charge will be placed three months from that initial order date.
** If you need to update your address on your current subscription, please email us. Squarespace does not allow for the shipping address to be changed once a subscription has started **
